•    Appraisals and 121s

We have a structured programme of objective setting, 121s and annual appraisals, all connected throughout the year so that you have maximum focus on your own achievements and development needs.

 

•    Tell-Me Sessions

So that the whole team is up to date with products, clients, new developments, and just generally what is happening in different teams, we organise regular ‘Tell-Me’ Sessions, which are interactive and informative. Subjects range from product demonstrations to GDPR.

 

•    Workshops

Run by internal experts or through our HR function, we offer a broad range of Aim workshops including consultancy skills, recruitment skills, appraisal skills, legal awareness, equality and diversity.

 

•    Wellbeing

We train mental health first aiders so that we can recognise signs that a team member is in need of support and enable them to get appropriate help.

 

•    Specialist Courses and Qualifications

We train our team in widely adopted and trusted procedures which offer best practise techniques, principles and adaptable processes such as ITIL ® and Prince 2 ®. We encourage team members to discuss and propose any additional training requirements they feel will benefit them in 121s and annual appraisals, and to take charge of their own careers.

 

•    Development Plans

Each team member will be supported in creating a development plan following their performance appraisal, which will be tailored to their own aspirations, objectives and needs.

Developer

Senior/Intermediate and Junior Full or Part Stack Developers

Aim Ltd is a business to business and systems development consultancy, optimising automation and implementing machine learning tools for organisations.


The Opportunity

We are looking to recruit both senior/intermediate and Junior full or part stack developers with a genuine passion for technology to join our growing team, on a permanent basis. This exciting role offers the opportunity to use the latest technologies and contribute to some truly ground-breaking software applications, which have been rated ‘world-leaders’ by market analysts. Junior developers will also have an opportunity to learn and grow whilst working within an experienced and professional R&D team.

Experience with web application development and functional programming languages is essential for senior/intermediate roles and desirable for junior applicants.


Requirements

The skills/experience required for these roles are set out below. The senior/intermediate role will of course be able to demonstrate a far wider range of knowledge and experience than junior applicants:

  • Computer Science degree or equivalent (A levels considered with the right drive and skills)
  • Programming Languages (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Java, C#, Python)
  • Web Frameworks (React, Angular, Angular.js, Vue)
  • Server-Side Runtimes (Node.js)
  • An appreciation for agile software development practices
  • A passion for computing within projects or hobbies that goes beyond your studies/qualifications
  • A creative and structured approach to problem-solving
  • Attention to detail and an ability to see things through is critical

Service Desk Analyst

The Role

Are you an enthusiastic graduate looking for a role in IT or have a background in IT and looking for a new challenge? Then we have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our IT Service Desk where you will have a chance to expand your knowledge working on a variety of different clients.


The Opportunity

Working within our great team of Service Desk Analysts you will provide first class customer service to our varied customer base offering different levels of service both 1st line and 2nd line.

You will enjoy dealing with people, a good team player and be confident when speaking with customers over the phone, taking ownership of incident tickets and a fantastic communicator with good written skills. The role demands focus and organisation with strong attention to detail.

Experience working on a service desk or a graduate with a strong interest in IT, programming and troubleshooting would be advantageous. Full training will be provided.


Responsibilities include:

  • Receiving and resolving support calls & emails;
  • Working on a shift-based system within the team;
  • Providing exceptional levels of customer service to both internal and external customers;
  • Responding efficiently to enquiries and troubleshooting issues;
  • Conducting research using relevant information resources;
  • Producing client and performance reports;
  • Evaluating & managing customer change requests in conjunction with internal development teams;
  • Producing & maintaining documentation within departmental knowledge base.


Technical/Specialist skills:

  • Awareness/knowledge of IT service management good practices;
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate an advantage;
  • Databases;
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office applications.


General Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Be articulate, logical and process driven
  • Be prepared and able to work as part of a rotation system that will include on-call duties for our clients with 24/7 cover

Technical IT Project Manager


We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Technical IT Project Manager.This is an ideal opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled team within a growing and dynamic organisation, working on complex and innovative client projects.

As a Technical IT Project Manager you will have solid and demonstrable experience in leading successful Business Change and IT/Networking related projects for medium and large companies, either internally or within a consultancy environment.


Your main areas of responsibility in this role will include:

  • Providing hands-on steering of a diverse range of clients and projects from initiation through to completion
  • Creating clear and attainable project objectives
  • Building project requirements and managing the constraints of the project management triangle - cost, time, scope, and quality
  • Ensuring accomplishment of the stated project objectives
  • Understanding, communicating and ensuring resolution of issues
  • Identifying, understanding and appropriately managing project stakeholders, project teams, risks, schedules, budgets and conflicts
  • Producing top quality documentation as an aid to managing the project.


You should have the following skills and experience:

  • Prince2 qualification
  • Ability to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical specifications both in knowledge and documentation
  • Ability to perform business analysis, identify root cause and develop recommendations to drive business improvements
  • Enterprise Software program management experience on progressively more complex and simultaneous programmes
  • Excellent track record of successfully implementing and managing SaaS product development programmes; keen understanding of the SaaS business model and its product development life-cycle
  • Agile Development domain knowledge to push and pull the right optimisation levers whenever needed
  • ITSM qualification or knowledge
  • Understanding of networking technologies including, switching, routing, wireless, IPv4
  • Understanding of load balancers, firewalls and other network security tools desirable
  • Thorough understanding of server infrastructure components including Windows and Linux class systems as well as virtualised environments
  • Ideally a working knowledge of business service discovery tools and their integration into a CMDB


Experienced Candidates


We normally require a minimum of 3 years’ IT project and/or programme management experience on sizeable projects. For technical project managers, candidates must understand modern technologies and software platforms, as well as industry leading project management methodologies and best practices. AiM follows the PRINCE2 method for projects and MSP for programmes. A project or programme method qualification is desirable.


Strong all-round project management skills are a must, along with being organised, process driven, systematic and having a thorough approach to work.

As partners of BMC Software – the US multi-national business service management company – we have many projects requiring the deployment and set-up of sophisticated BMC tools supporting IT service management, IT operations management, data centre automation and cloud lifecycle management.
